POOLEY BRIDGE - The bride and bridegroom, who were happily married at Pooley Bridge, had the distinction of being the first couple in the district to go to and from the church in a motor car. The bride was Miss Sarah Fawcett, the daughter of the late Mr. William Fawcett, Elderbeck, and the bridegroom was Mr. Thomas Mark, Ellonby Hall. The car, lent by Mr. E. Tinkler, Penrith, conveyed Mr. and Mrs. Mark to Penrith railway station, from where they departed for a honeymoon in Blackpool. (no children)

Thomas married Sarah FAWCETT, daughter of William FAWCETT and Mary Ann BIRD. (Sarah FAWCETT was born about 1865 in Barton WES and died after 1911.)
