Ann Martha COTTY
- Born: 1840, Hinton St George, Somerset, England
- Died: 1926 Du Page County, Illinois, USA
Had 5 children: Anna (Bowers), Mae Louise, Gussie, Lotta (Mower), Earle Sidney and 3 grandchildren: Genevieve Louise Eichenberger (d 1979 San Diego), Samuel Ashley Bowers (d 1940), Elmer Mower. Genevieve had 3 children: Jeanette (= Fred Benson of Harbor Springs MI), Berniece (= George Puttess of California); A. Dudley (d 2012 Glen Ellyn Illinois), and Ashley had two - Marjorie and Charles (d 2000 San Diego), a Korean war veteran.
The female line continues only through Jeanette. Ann Martha described as Annie Martha (majority) in father's Cape Death Notice. Her name of Martha could be from Martha Richard that witnessed parents' marriage (family friend?), or from great-aunt Martha Bowerman who was alive in 1841 and perhaps went to USA.
