Norwich once rivalled London in size but the folk shown here are from refreshingly country stock.

My great-grandmother's mother escaped Norfolk as a young woman and we never heard of it again, except that the family once had Mulbarton Hall. It has been fun finding out just how inventive people were to survive (not forgetting all the stories) - the blacksmiths often had a pub, too!
